Roest is loacated on the Oosterburgeiland at the edge of the city center. A unique restaurant establishment in a fantastic old engine house with a raw industrial atmosphere, reminds us of the Meatpacking district in New York. Very cool! The location was used to build VOC ships and steam machines and it is exactly that part of history that adds charm to Roest Amsterdam.
Remarkably is the concept where café meets supermarket; you can grab your own drinks from the fridge, add it to you shopping cart and pay at the cashier.
Roest is not only a café where you can enjoy a good meal, but also a creative place for film, theater, art and music. Events and festivities take place on a regular basis, for example an outdoor movie theater, cozy barbeques, creative picnics, expositions and music festivals. Once a water gunfight was organized. When was the last time you participated in one?
Cream of the crop is the Roest city beach, ideally to relax near the water. Add a drink and BBQ to top it off!
