Kapok in Hong Kong

Kapok opened their doors in 2006 in Tin Hau, but they haved moved to Wan Chai on Hong Kong Island. The founder, Arnault, is a Frenchman, who moved to Hong Kong in 1996 with the goal to focus on small businesses and young designers, whose clothes were not for sale yet in Hong Kong. Arnault didn’t have any experience in retail, but he believed in his concept, which is still a success in Hong Kong.

International brands at kapok

Concept store Kapok sells mainly local and international brands, which have been selected on the design, quality and craftsmanship. The store has a wide variety of products. They sell clothing, accessories, but also interior products.

The interior of kapok

The stores have a modern and playful interior with a little bit of modern design. The employees are very nice and they’re totally not pushy compared to many other stores in Hong Kong.

Since the success of Kapok in Wan Chai, the store has expanded to three branches. Last year Sailor Kapok opened in the world’s first Art Mall K11 in Tsim Sha Tsui. Why “ sailor” ?
