Then you definitely can’t skip Insadong! In this area they sell mostly very traditional Korean stuff. It’s the best place to buy old books, antique, paintings, beautiful ceramics and traditional Korean clothing. The vibe in this area is very special, friendly and nice. Also, you’ll find large, crowded shopping streets with lots of neon lighting and loud K-pop music everywhere.

INSADONG HAS THREE DIFFERENT FACES ON ONE DAY

In Insadong you’ll experience three different views in just one day. In the early morning it’s very quiet and you won’t bump into many people. In the afternoon it will become more crowded and busy on the streets of Insadong. Here and there you’ll spot musicians singing songs of John Mayer, Jack Johnson or some other famous Western artist. In the middle of the main streets you’ll see stands with diverse Korean snacks, fresh coconut juice or typical Korean lemonade, which they sell in a small bag. Very cool! In the evening people stroll down the alleys of Insadong to find a restaurant. This is our favourite part of the day to visit Insadong!

FOR TRADITIONAL KOREAN FOOD YOU HAVE TO BE IN INSADONG!

Insadong is also the place to be for many traditional restaurants, cafe’s and teahouses, where you can enjoy an afternoon tea or a wonderful dinner. Eating out is different here compared to the other areas of Seoul. Here you’ll experience the true Korean kitchen while eating with the locals in a traditional setting. We loved it!

ART IN INSADONG

Insadong is also a hotspot for many art galleries. There’s even a tour to visit all the known galleries in the area where you can admire the art of many artists. Thus, there’s a lot to do in Insadong!

Would you like to experience a real Seoul? Then you definitely can’t skip Insadong!
