Kop van Zuid in Rotterdam

De Kop van Zuid is a relatively new neighborhood in Rotterdam. A piece of unused port which was later developed into a beautiful part of the city. With this development the Erasmus bridge played an important role, which is the gateway between the city center and Rotterdam South. At de Kop van Zuid you experience grandeur of modern and historic Rotterdam. Wilhelminapier  was previously  the homeport of  the Holland America Line. Beautiful old buildings now have an entirely new destination. Like the former headquarters of the Holland America Line now the Hotel New York, the former arrival gate is now called Cruise Terminal and the old workplaces are transformed into restaurants like Las Palmas by Herman den Blijker.

Manhattan on the Maas

The mix with contemporary architecture of thousands of apartments and offices, including the world famous ‘Rotterdammer’ is one of the highlights. De Kop van Zuid is also called the Manhattan on the Maas. Since the opening of the Rijnhavenbrug (bridge), you can also easily walk from Kop van Zuid to the popular district Katendrecht.
