The newest and one of the most luxurious hotels of Amsterdam is the Andaz hotel. Part of the Hyatt Hotels Corporation and the first Hyatt hotel in Holland. The hotel is located at the Pinsengracht, where the Public Library of Amsterdam was established. It is a beautiful location right next to the Amsterdam canals and near the 9 Straatjes.
At the entrance we were welcomed by the colorful, extraordinary (and almost shoddy) interior of the hotel. The interior is designed by Marcel Wanders, a famous Dutch industrial designer. Tulips, Delfts Blue, gold and orange colors stand out as well as a enormous television screen. This screen is part of a comprehensive collection of video art. Forty pieces of video work from mostly Dutch artists are part of (and integrated) in the interior throughout the hotel.
The hotel lounge has a cozy ambiance and it feels like modern living room in the middle of a museum. The couches are very comfortable and the personnel can be defined as friendly and hip. Want to try something new in town? Go for a drink at the Andaz hotel in Amsterdam
